What is the best GED study guide?

My dad is taking the GED at 43 years old and is having a very hard time with reading base. He left at 16 during his HS jr. Year. Even in high school had a very hard time reading. He is taking a class, but his instructor is not all that useful. I am looking to buy a study guide but I am not one to buy, because they require reading skills. http://www.amazon.com/McGraw-Hills-GED-CD-ROM-Mcgraw-Hills/dp/0071451994/ref=pd_bbs_2/002-6751114-4545657?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1192924731&sr = 8-2 I am looking at this. This is especially difficult because I'm in college 120 miles away (not cars). So besides that fact that I can not relate to their struggle, I can not do much to help myself. PPL really appreciate anything you can do for me.

If you are having problems with reading may want to start with a Pre-GED-level study guide. McGraw-Hill Contemporary and Steck-Vaughn, both published. There are also specific issues ed adult books, he desired, can concentrate on reading only the beginning and then go to other subjects. Hopefully that was tested and the teacher can recommend the appropriate level materials. If not, the overall Pre-GED GED books and has very good pre-tests that can be Used to identify specific problem areas. How to avoid becoming discouraged and good luck!
